I recently hired a va in the Philippines for my solo practitioner counseling practice. I am trying to have them take over scheduling duties and having a hard time with knowing what is fair in terms of expectations for the VA. In general, I would respond to clients Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM, if they texted after 5 PM and it was before 9 PM I would acknowledge their text with something like a thumbs up or sounds good to just let them know I have received the message. I am unsure as to how fairly ask this of a VA. Essentially they are on call during these hours. My business is not busy enough that they would necessarily be responding to messages every day, it’s more of an on call situation. I am struggling to know what would be a fair way to compensate someone for this type of expectation?
