Our family owns a second generation brick and mortar business. My husband “ inherited” it and has been working in the business all his life. We need to update some of our practices to grow. My husband wants me to be in charge of the social media aspect, ( which is very sparse right now) but I don’t really know much more than from a personal account perspective. I can randomly post on individual platforms, but we are looking to do more creative endeavors and hopefully some automation. My husband said he’d send me to take some classes, and that may be an option, but not sure if that’s a full degree program, or possibly a certification… not sure. But can anyone tell me, aside from outsourcing this position, what you have done to enhance your social media advertising? Any apps, tools, or general tips you’ve found helpful? Is it necessary to take social media management classes? Our business was started in the 70’s and most of our customers are referrals or repeat customers, generational consumers. We do almost no advertising at this time. Thankful for any advice!
