I need to look into getting a license to sell sonic plush toys that I am not making myself. Now I am confused, I was told initially that I need a license even if I do not make them, but someone else mentioned that no that is not the case, you can sell them as a third party, so I need clarity on this. Also I plan to source from a legit source, like a listed official seller not some vendor on Amazon on Alibaba. From what I understand SEGA owns the rights of Sonic merchandise so I need to get a copyright license in order to sell these products. I do not want to risk any sort of liability, as I am a small business and do not have funds to fight any sort of legal cases. I am okay with paying more to sell these things to avoid any legal liability. So if it is the case that I need to get a license, does anyone know how much does it cost and how do I approach a company like SEGA, I cannot hire a third party I will need to do this myself. I did some research and I know that I have to have a business plan and expected sales channels, and royalties and how do I plan to market products.
