i started my own consulting business about 2 years ago because i was sick of corporate bureaucracy and wanted more control over my work. at first it was amazing - solving actual problems for clients, being creative, building something from nothing. fast forward to now and i spend probably 80% of my time on invoices, contracts, bookkeeping, chasing down payments, and other administrative nightmare stuff. the part i actually love - the problem solving and strategy work - gets maybe a few hours a week if im lucky. i know admin stuff is part of running a business but jesus christ i didnt expect it to completely takeover everything. starting to wonder if i actually like being an entrepreneur or if i just liked the IDEA of it, you know? like am i running a business or is this business just running me into the ground? anyone else hit this wall? does it get better or is this just what owning a business looks like? because if its the latter i might need to go back to corporate and at least get a steady paycheck for my suffering lol
