Location: Missouri Hello all, This past weekend I had planned a trip about 2 hours from home so I needed to book a hotel. The only issue is I’m still 20. I had a lot of trouble finding a room because of this issue until I thought I had struck gold. I scanned the hotels website and didn’t find any information on an age limit. I also called the establishment and before booking to make sure there was no “minimum check in age” which the person replied a simple “no.” I ended up booking the place about a week from when I needed to take my trip through a third party company and thought everything was going well, until I arrived. The woman at the counter asked to see my ID to make sure it was me and then she handed it back saying “Unfortunately [redacted] we cannot fulfill your stay because of your age, you have to be 21+ to book and check in.” I replied “Really? I called the place before I even booked the room and was told there was no minimum check in age.” She replied, “I’m not sure who you called but it wasn’t us.” I went back to my car to collect my thoughts and confirmed that the number was to this establishment, so I was incorrectly informed or lied to. I wouldn’t be making this post if it wasn’t for me not getting a refund for the room. I called the booking company I went through and told them everything from the phone call to not age listing on the site. They said they would try to get my refund, but it depended on the hotels policies. Long story short I received email today saying that the refund could not go through. Is there anything I can do in this situation or am K more screwed than an 50 cent hooker?
