I’ve been toying the last several months with expanding business where I primarily work say September to May, but we’ll say ~Thanksgiving to Memorial Day Weekend is peak time where I work 4-6 days a week, sometimes 4-7 weeks straight without a day off. As fun as having the summers off is, I need to be busy and I get bored/antsy feeling like I’m sitting around when I could be making more money doing something in the summer months too. I work in an outdoor industry, I’ve thought about generating maybe some income from apparel related to business (or starting a completely different venture but it seems like a super saturated, competitive place to get exposure), to maybe some consulting-type work for land owners or new people looking to get into the industry (even though there are many free service we out there thanks to the internet). So, I’m kind of torn what to do, not sure of a “right” basket to put my eggs in in my off season. What do you out there do outside peak seasons that generate income related to your businesses that’s still relevant to what you do? And finally, does it general the same amount of income or do you have a goal of what you want to bring in monthly/weekly during your off season that you are okay with?
