QuickBooks Payroll is **garbage**. From failing to remit payroll tax payments electronically, to improper quarterly filings, to pausing payroll set to auto-run for no reason, duplicating bank accounts in the COA, incorrect payroll liability setup... it's just one headache after another after another. If I could chalk it up to the **one reason** everyone hates QuickBooks Payroll, it's their ineffective customer support. When an issue arises where a fix is only available on the backend, QuickBooks Payroll customer support is severely lacking at best, and painfully incompetent at worst. Payroll support is not knowledgeable, and there aren't enough resources to address the problems often created by DIY small business owners who were told anyone can use the program. I highly recommend using QBO for bookkeeping and Gusto for payroll. I understand it might be a minor inconvenience to use two separate platforms, but it will save you major headaches down the road - also, Gusto integrates with QBO so all your payroll data automatically syncs to QBO.
