i don't know what i can and can do and what to do next once i finish the newsletters for this month. but like i know i need to start cleaning and segmenting our subscriber list but then my client expects me to just keep on releasing emails and he'd just think of it as just a waste of time. the other day he got mad when i planned to schedule a newsletter for friday and kept questioning why it would take until friday to send the newsletter for this week and i said that i was a/b testing the best send schedule and then he said that a/b testing only applies to social media ads like ??? some ESPs literally have a feature that supports A/B testing for emails then he consulted chatgpt and it told him that the best send times are on tues-thurs, etc. and then he added that things like these don't need to be tested because chatgpt already has the data on it. i tried explaining that it differs from company to company that's why we have to a/b test then proceeded to lash out that i'm wasting time and that i'm supposed to be someone who has experience and not someone who doesn't know anything. listen i was honest to him upfront that i had only 3 months of experience with email marketing during my internship. i was the only one who worked on it in our startup and i had worked with a support of the ESP we were using PLUS finished a course on email marketing from hubspot. i may not have extensive experience but i DO know something and i DO acknowledge that i have a lot more to learn. my client is a struggle to work with but i also know that my client management/communication needs work. but he's also not really that bad tbh. he compliments when i do good work and criticizes me when needed but sometimes he just oversteps because it's what he thinks is right but then sometimes it actually helps lol. this newbie yearns for a mentor.
