As a podcaster, I’m asking, is Spotify dead? Here’s my problem. I’ve been doing podcasts since Jan. 17th, and I haven’t seen much growth on the Spotify platform. I’ve seen growth on Apple Podcasts & YouTube. Second, I use Artlist.io tracks for intro/outro and I carry a valid licenses. Recently, Spotify has blocked my content. I’ve appealed with my license ID and the like but haven’t gotten a response. When I had an issue in February, I was able to appear and got it turned around in about 24 hours. They just seem super unresponsive. I’ve also uploaded videos without the track - and still they don’t show up. Their email says: Your episode How to Run a Stress-Free Video Shoot (Like a Pro) | JumpCutKing of The Create Podcast | JumpCutKing appears to contain the following music: Song: Fast - Instrumental Version Artist: Skrxlla Location in episode: 24:39 - 24:57 Episode ID: 51ufEdV7IIJjn4Qfw9nHIW The episode has been removed from Spotify in Canada, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, United States due to recent changes with the music rightsholder. It’s important to note, this is the same tracks I use since the inception. That particular track is my disclaimer tag. I use it across this podcast and a few others. Third, I’ve been using the Spotify’s Creator platform to host my podcast. Which is bad because the podcasts aren’t showing up on Apple Podcasts- or anywhere else. I’m debating moving to my own platform and just “Lazily” supporting Spotify. I thought using the Spotify Create platform would give me even more tools - and connect me with potential podcasters but their platform seems to have no organic recommendation system as sophisticated as YouTube. Also, my content is specialized and yet not… so, YouTube and Apple Podcasts has been growing but Spotify has not. I’d give you my opinion but I felt Spotify was the go to platform for Podcasts and Podcasters but I feel that they don’t care about newbies. Anyone have some thoughts?
