I have been buying and selling boardgames on Vinted for about 1 month, without any problems. Recently I bought a game from a 5 star seller. The game was still unopened, in shrink wrap, so all I had was photos of the outside box. When I received the package and opened the game box, the components like the board, cards, rulebook, were clearly bad quality and counterfeit like many games you can find on websites like Aliexpress and Temu. I reported the matter to the seller, who denied it was a counterfeit. I then reported to Vinted customer support for suspicion of counterfeit. I provided many photos of all the game components, where I compared the forgery to an original copy I borrowed from a friend. Vinted, meanwhile, asked the seller to provide proof of authenticity of the game within 48h. While I was waiting for the decision I emailed the publisher of the game, sent them the photos, and the publisher confirmed in writing that the game I received was not a legitimate copy. I sent this email from the publisher to Vinted. After this, Vinted admitted that the seller was unable to provide proof of authenticity, but still decided in favor of the seller, asking me to return the item and pay for shipping, if I want a refund. They said they don't have enough information to conclude it's counterfeit and that they can only accept information from the subjects, meaning that the email from the publisher is worthless. I reported the case to the European Consumer Center and they said they can't help me because according to Vinted's Terms and Conditions they are only an intermediary. I just want my full refund, without paying for shipping for returning an illegal item. I feel defeated and don't trust Vinted anymore.
