Not sure if this is the right place. I tried posting it on ChatGPTCoding and it got removed! I dont think they like discussing anything other than ChatGPT.... I use ChatGpt extensively, not just for coding but tonnes of stuff. I chose ChatGPT because its a good allrounder and I pay for Plus. I am not familiar with any other AI and would like to know if there is something better for coding because ChatGPT cosing is really starting to wind me up! Constant annoyances. I get AI can make mistakes and so its not a replacement for me, I still need to debug and correct the code. But its more the annoyances it does ALL THE TIME! The main annoyances are: * I send a full file or class of code, and she gives me back "snippets" I have to figure out where to paste, and its very confusing. I have to ask all the time to keep posting the full code or even function back (sometimes she gives incomplete functions back). * When she does give the full code back, sometimes she's changed another part of the code that worked fine before even though that was not the ask, and then it breaks or something changes. * Sometimes she even removes complete functions. I thought I finished a project earlier and all these functions that worked before stopped working because they were removed from code! * Sometimes forgets previous code, so gives me "solutions" that do not fit the project we have been taking about. * Changes variables/reference names and things, so copy and paste wont work as there's inconsistent variable names then. * Suggests functions that dont even exist! For example if I query how to do something in Wordpress several times she's supplied an action that does not exist! When it doesn't work and I question is she'd say "oh that function does not exist, I was just showing you the code to use if it did". * Over complicates code. I ask for a solution and she comes back with tonnes of code I immediately know is over the top. So I figure it out myself then using 5% of her code or number of lines. * Lots more niggly things. I am starting to get very stressed working with ChatGPT. She still speeds up development by writing the foundation to a project/script in the first place, and helps me refine it to what I need, but that refining and adjusting or adding functionality etc. is getting way annoying due to her issues. Also, maybe it would be better to have ChatGPT inside VSCode to access all the code, but I am not sure I can do that on my Macbook. Its only 2020 Mac but ChatGPT app wont install on it. I have to use it in the web.
