I’ve been working on a side project in the productivity tools/software category, and I’m hitting the stage where I want to start sharing it publicly. The problem is, I feel super awkward promoting it. I don’t want to come across as that guy who is constantly spamming LinkedIn, Instagram, or my personal network with endless updates. At the same time, I know I need to put it out there if I actually want to attract real users and feedback. I’ve been considering outreach on reddit, niche communities, or maybe some targeted content, but I don’t want to burn bridges by being pushy. For those of you who’ve promoted your side projects, what worked without making it feel like shameless self-promo?
