Location: PA Her Location: North Carolina Long story short, I had a half sister through my father's side I had been trying to find for a long time. I was notified just the other day she passed away unexpectedly, left no will, and I'm next of kin. I don't even know where to start with all this. An attorney who I finally found that would work with me said I have to go and be there in person...I'm disabled and in a broken wheelchair, ..and a service dog I'll have to bring with. I have a brother who is also her half brother but we don't speak, I don't know if I need to notify him or not...and they want me in the state to sign paperwork etc so I can inherit the estate. From what I have been told it's a decent amount worth fighting for, but I already have people breaking into her home that aren't even related to her and putting locks on the doors of her home after taking things. Every attorney I have talked to about this said I have to sign paperwork first before they can stop the people from entering the home. Also will my brother be notified of next of kin, or do I have to go to him and do that? Thanks in advance.
