I sold a brand-new sealed-in-box flip phone to a buyer with an ebay store and 7k ebay transactions. Person had it almost a month and then contacted me saying it didn't work properly, had to reboot a couple times a day to make/receive calls but he really wants to keep the phone. Asks me for tech assistance. I suggest he take it to tmobile or call their customer service. He replies that "I would prefer to get direct help from you as I dont want to have a store do anything wrong and may tamper with warranty/return or void warranty/return." I replied I couldn't help and didn't know anything about any warranty. He then opens an item damaged/not working return. I didn't open the box, so don't have a serial number or any way to id the phone. Near as I can tell I will have to issue a refund once received. My question: Ebay says "If the buyer doesn't ship the item back by Nov 19, we may close the return..." and I won't need to refund. Does that mean he has until the 19th to ship, or for it to be received? A label has been created, but no record of it shipping yet. thx.
