So per the 4o forced silent rerouting error I emailed OpenAI support for a partial refund. Will keep you posted how it goes. Here’s the email I wrote in case you want to request partial refund too. —————————————————— Dear OpenAI support, Your app forced a reroute from GPT‑4o to GPT‑5, even though I explicitly selected 4o and the session header showed 4o throughout the interaction! This is fraud!!! It misleads the user about which model is being used. I want a partial refund for this month’s subscription! For every reply that GPT 5 disguised as GPT4 AND LIED TO MY FACE! And just to be clear, For example: Suppose I have 1000 chats with GPT. and out of which I have 200 that GPT silently switched to GPT 5 when I explicitly requested GPT 4o. This is FRAUD! And that means 20% of the subscription fee if for a service that is NOT WHAT YOU PROMISED TO DELIVER. Is that clear? The “refund” is not about money, it is like suing for $1 or something like that. It is about principles. When I go to a restaurant and order seabass, and the waiter serves me meshed potatoes squeezed into a square and hope I don’t find out it is not Seabees, do you think this is how you should be doing business? You need to have the basic respect an app should give to its user, where you need to clearly state “Sorry but {product A} is not available, can I switch to {product B} instead?” rather than silently serving me stuff that is NOT the product you said you are going to deliver, and hope you could sneak a different product in unnoticed. This is basic client-trust-building. Because this is fraudulent behavior. Because the product UI claimed to be one product (GPT 4o) where as the reply changed to a different product (GPT5) without my consent or any communication. This behavior is misrepresentation of the product I selected and I paid for. And presenting one product in UI while delivering service using another product is deceptive. You will also need to have the payment information (if available) ready.
