Also wanted to mention that monetizing passions frequently kills the fun of them. A monetized passion has customers, and those customers have demands and sometimes unrealistic expectations. You have late payments, and dry periods, and taxes/accounting, website issues, etc etc. There are a million reasons why monetizing a passion isn’t the best way to create fun work that you love. If you care about what you do for work, and want to have some sort of good feelings associated with it, look at what you value, not what you consider ‘fun’ or enjoyable. If you are doing something that aligns with your values, it can make the hard times of the job feel more worth it. Work with your therapist on defining your values, narrow it down to your top five, and go from there.
