I'm assuming I'll need to call a professional to get them removed (the ones with red xes on them), but it would probably be a while before we could do that, which leads me to ask; is it realistic to consider whether or not I could remove them myself? My dad installed this shower 20 years ago and for some ungodly reason decided to add 2 extra random heads. It is destroying the room with excess moisture and mold, and feels like you are being swept away in a tsunami to shower in. I can see how I'd replace the pipes on the upper head, but don't see how I could remove the one with pipes embedded in the wall without massive efforts. My gut tells me to just remove the head and cap it, but I also bet having a capped branch creates potential for mold and bacteria growth.
