TL;DR - me just ranting about interviewing for jobs and getting rejected.... starting my own business.. I just got the dreaded rejection email from two companies I was interviewing last week. I've been applying off and on for the last 7-8 months. It may seem long (or maybe not long?) to some but after countless applications, initial phone calls, and interviews, I'm so over it. These recent companies have required me to do video recordings before an initial call and "test cases" to test my accounting ability. I don't mind the behavioral type questionnaires but to go through all these hoops just to get rejected. Just sucks because I know there's someone out there juuuust a bit better than me at interviewing. I'm frustrated and exhausted! Anyway, after all of this, this is the push I need to start my own accounting/bookkeeping business. I've been thinking about this for about a year now. I have a current client that wants to work with me and so I just need to find other clients (yes, easier said than done). I understand it won't be all rainbows and butterflies but I love the idea of working for myself. DM me if you want to know more! <3
