Location: Ozark Alabama (Online correspondence) So, I recently started seeing a new psychiatrist through an online psychiatry service. I had an appointment at the start of October, which my psychiatrist failed to show up to. It was annoying, but I didn't have time in my schedule to reschedule because my child ended up in the hospital. When we got out, there was a $95 no-show fee charged to our (Luckily outdated) card. It bounced, but we received an email about the charge. I had no idea that the appointment had been rescheduled, was not alerted to this appointment, but was charged nearly a hundred dollars anyway. My family is low-income, this is not an insignificant amount of money to us! Anyway, I reached out via email regarding this error, and was told that I couldn't have known about this appointment and it was under review. A week goes by with no communication. They tried to charge again. And again. I called them and spoke with a customer support agent who said (verbally) that providers shouldn't reschedule without my knowledge and this was an error, and would follow up with me soon. She did, claiming that I still have to pay the hundred dollars, but they will work on their "Clarity" and "Transparency". What legal options do I have? I can't drop a hundred dollars on an appointment I didn't even get to attend, and at this point I am out of meds because the psychiatrist missed my appointment to begin with!
