Location: Oregon, USA Issue: Co-parent refuses to use the Our Family Wizard app. Says it won’t work on their Android phone. Relevant language in our parenting plan: “For the purpose of emergency contact, each parent will maintain a phone number with text capability at which they can be contacted. Neither parent will block the other parent and each parent shall make the best efforts to keep their phone with text capability charged at all times. However, it is understood that cellular service availability is dependent upon service providers. For non-emergency contact, the parents will use Our Family Wizard or hardcopy written communication. Emergencies include but are not limited to, injury, sickness, weather related emergencies, and unscheduled delays in parenting time exchanges exceeding 15 minutes.” I have been using OFW regularly for several months now but nothing I’ve posted there has ever been read. I also set-up a Google Voice number and gave them that to use in emergencies because of repeated harassment and verbally/emotionally abusive messages sent to my “real” number and my email address. They keep texting me about non-emergency stuff on the Google Voice number and hand-delivering unwanted letters to me at drop-off/pick-up. I’ve made it clear in writing that I only want to talk about co-parenting logistics; let’s keep it platonic, professional, treat each other like coworkers, etc. I’m so frustrated. We do need to communicate about the kids sometimes, and that’s not happening very effectively right now. I want my kids to get what they need — but without me being used as a doormat again. What are my legal options and obligations here? Thanks!
