Our e-commerce brand (high-end homegoods) has been stuck at around the 500k/yr rev mark and we recently made the fatal error of hiring a fast-talking strategy consultant in an effort to boost the business into profitability & improve on the brand. Every meeting ends with more homework & projects for the founders, it's all abstract and none of it speaks to an actual plan i.e. "do x to achieve y." This individual's services may be better suited for us in 3-5 years but we need more help on execution and sales than strategy. We're fortunate to have resources to invest into the business; the consultant costs $100k/year (by far the biggest expense, none of the founders take a salary) and it's become apparent that cash would be better suited going toward revenue-generating measures. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good resource to help boost a burgeoning brand toward its goals? Whether it's high-end sales agency, a fractional CRO, someone or something that felt to you like it was actually worth the investment and made tangible improvements to your business? I understand you likely need a lot more info to make a recommendation, but any anecdotal feedback is much appreciated.
